The more you find out about Petraeus, the more you'll see that MoveOn was right to call him "Betray-Us." He is the bottom of the barrel at general rank. ALL of his experience in combat has been in Iraq; his first assignment was an abject failure that the administration trumpeted as a win-win. FOX is disgraceful -- most intelligent people want to know both sides of a story before making an informed decision. FOX decides for you -- what you will see, what you won't see, their opinion and only pundits blah-blah-blahhing their opinion. (If anyone disagrees, they are told to SHUT-UP or cut off.) Ann Coulter is so far from reality; it is frightening how many people actually believe anything she says. I am grateful to Robert Greenwald for his hard work exposing the deceit of the media and the Bush regime. I hope momentum keeps growing as it did during the Vietnam war and the majority of America stands up and just says NO.

The media, especailly FOX, is irrelevant. It is a marketing tool for the Bush administration and an advertiser for the military industrial complex that conducts wars to market their weapons, private security companies and reconstruction industry.

I think switching to Ann Coulter was uncalled for. It was a Congressional hearing, and as such, Fox should have included all the speakers, both from the Democratic and well as the Republican parties. To switch to Ann Coulter was not "Fair and balanced." If she did not even listen to the hearing, how could she even make a judgement? How one-sided Fox is. The general spoke well and had his notes in front of him. As a person, he is probably the best general, however, he was briefed while in Iraq when GWB came over, and also visited the White House prior to the hearings. So in the context of having been previously briefed by the White House, you might get the idea that these were not his words. Also as a military man, he should not have to speak before Congress, it it the President's job, as he claims he is the "commander in chief", let him explain to Congress the pros and cons of what is happening over there.

I'm so exhausted and depressed by the total lack of change in the dialog regarding FOX, The War, healthcare, poverty, education, government, etc. etc. It appears that years of clear, focused exposure of the lies of the Bush administration, Republican Congress, ilitary-industrial-commercial complex and their screeching supporters have not made a tiny dent in the blind ignorance of a huge portion of the American populace. (Despite tiny polling changes) I literally do not know what to do, since nothing seems to be working. I was threatened with death by a patron in a bookstore a few years ago for suggesting that Bush was lying about Iraq, and intuit no change in the atmosphere now.

What can we do? I need a clear positive sign to bring some hope, as my life has personally been damaged by these horrible, ignorant liars.

it is a pertinent observation that news organisations are grabbing for ratings, but it is actually naive and not acceptable to say that news organisations should not be accountable for presenting fact rather than entertainment. news does promise to be reality, by its very status as news - reporting of real events that happen in the world. if you don't want to know the news but want to be entertained, THAT'S when you change the channel. if you don't want just information, watch infomercials. i do understand their need to make ratings, but it is news directors who make their job all about a grab for ratings who are bashing real journalists by turning news into entertainment. i realise that it is a greater and perhaps systemic problem with the commercialisation of news, but integrity remains important.

Sure I agree it's all about ratings The reason people don't watch Fox News is the same reason people don't watch CNN. Have things gone wrong in the war with Iraq? Hell yeah It did not go as planned.
