Propaganda, police protocol does not trump the First Amendment rights of peaceable assembly and/or petitioning the government for redress.

The police were out of line by telling him he couldn't enter in the first place.

They were even further out of line when they jumped him with 6 officers. That was a severe overreaction. That you could see that overreaction and blame the victim for trying to walk to a door is a scary indication to how close to an authoritarian state we are coming.
