1) Like it or not, Limbaugh single handedly resusitated AM radio, or they would all be out of business
2) If right wing, as you put it, radio was not suscessfull--NO ONE WOULD LISTEN! No listeners, no sponsers, no money--No one is forcing you to listen!
3-6) Air America failed for 1 reason--NO LISTENERS
To be blunt BORING! It was the 6th or 7th try for az liberal network to fail-not the first! I remember Mario Cuomo and his attempt listening on WSYR AM 560 in Syracuse--what a bore--3 weeks later he was off the air! Why is that? No one in the mid 1990's wanted to listen to that crap--I agree with middle class--start your own station and talk like you write---you wil have about 2 listeners--your self and your wife, providing your married!!

It is been said of the American Experience as a delicate balance between government taking over business (communism) or business taking over government (corporate fascism). It was on a whopping 62 stations, most under 1000 watts and before you yell Clear Channel--most stations turned down airing thier propaganda because listeners and Arbirtron rating surveys panned the 'broadcast'.

I find it hard to believe that you think that the repubes are the only ones that attack our rights. Also, it was during the Clinton administration that new airwave frequencies were not allowed, and all of the regular players watched the value of their stations escalate through the roof.

I don't find any good in any of this, but you need to appreciate the Bill of Rights more, and hold your own party accountable for trying to take your first, second, and fourth amendment rights away, during the past four to seven years. This was not done by repubes alone, and both parties benefit from this.

Eyeopener? When the fairness doctrine was around, only was AM radio, and open air broadcast TV-- FM was still in its infancy. You did not have 500 cable channels to pick, XM/Sirius satellite radio did not exist. The fairness doctrine NEVER had any laws to deal with cable, satellite, FM, internet etc etc--so I am assuming when your advocating return of this piece of trash as law we will regulate ALL media, not just AM radio---hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm????
