The situation is not being considered! The fact that people are talking about Al Sharpton and not the case of the Jena Six speaks volumes. We all need to take some sort of action to deter present and future racist acts. We need to help free Americas past achievements and not "hang" them.

Dumb Al knows that assault and hanging a rope in a tree are completely different. Assault is a crime of violence.

I have to respectfully disagree. While I can appreciate that Rev. Sharpton can raise consciousness and media attention to situations - it is by and large after an uproar has already occurred. I am consistently irritated that the media consistently calls him a leader of the black community, as he is no leader of mine - and further more, why do we need to be led? Because someone can articulate and speak clearly does not make them someone worthy of our attention. I suspect the media likes him because he earned the reputation of being an outrageous black man and you never know what he's going to do next. There are incredible unsung heroes in the black community that go unrecognized everyday that do more good - with out the need of a camera and a news anchor to thank them.

He may be somewhat flawed and have made mistakes. We all do. But he is an articulate and passionate advocate for African-Americans and there are not many with the media platform to do so. It's no accident that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are constantly attacked personally. Once again, a la Al Gore, it's attack the messenger when you don't like the message.

To even give this guy a place to talk is wrong, he is a scam artist thru and thru, he doesn't help he only hurts.
