This is a powerful ad for Richardson. It uses the emotional power of Richardson's diplomatic efforts to free American hostages from Saddam Hussein when the former was still a Congressman and the latter the object of glorious dreams of keyboard-clutching Neocons throughout the land.

This ad is a recycle of Richardson's run for governor in 2002. And it was not really a big deal. Saddam was not known for keeping Americans as hostages. Richardson is very good at talking privately with very scummy dictators to get the release of a few hostages. He never takes on hard problems like trying to win the release of the poor nurses and doctor that were held in Libya on the false charges of deliberately giving children AIDS. Nope He wouldn't go near that or any other difficult negotiation. He does little but claims much.
He was so ineffective as UN ambassador the he was appointed to be Sec'y of Dept. of Energy and, boy, did he make a mess of that. (remember Wen Ho Lee?) Big Bill was excoriated by Senators of both parties after he finally deigned to show up for a hearing on the wretched security situation at the DOE and particularly Los Alamos.
This guy is the biggest liar running and for flip flops, he rivals, no surpases Mitt. (Recall his answer that being gay was a choice, not biological. Twice. Till he got with his advisors after, then "clarified."
