As you probably know, southern California is in a state of emergency today as at least 15 separate wildfires fed by gale-force Santa Ana winds ravage the state. It has caused one death (so far), the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people, and the destruction of dozens of houses. In light of that, the “liberal” media’s Glenn Beck said this:
I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.
See, “a lot” of the people in southern California who saw their houses burn deserve it because they “hate America”. Since Beck couldn’t possibly know the political affiliation of all those fire victims, one must imagine it’s the fact that they would dare to live in commie-loving, terrorist-supporting California that justifies the destruction of their homes and, possibly, their lives. It’s “unfortunate” for those fire victims, but it’s awesome for Beck and those who share his political views because they get to watch those lousy victims get their comeuppance!
To anyone surprised that anyone could be such an unbelievable prick, let me ask this: Are you familiar with the republican party?
Remember, in 2005, Bill O’Reilly called for and invited a terrorist attack on San Francisco:
Listen, citizens of San Francisco, if you vote against military recruiting, you're not going to get another nickel in federal funds. Fine. You want to be your own country? Go right ahead.
And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead.
So you can imagine how happy O'Reilly must be to see these fires. Not only is California allegedly full of secular progressives, but it is also the home of the mythical "liberal elite".
According to these very popular conservative pundits and the party they speak for, any person, community, and apparently state that does not follow the republican line “hates America”. Therefore, they deserve to have their houses destroyed, their cities attacked, and their lives eradicated. One of the stupider, more ridiculous trolls (and that’s saying a lot) on our site echoed this sentiment in a comment when he wrote, “You make it sound like a bad thing if San Francisco was bombed,” and I don’t imagine he’s the only republican who thinks that. See, some republicans are so blinded by their patriotic love that they just can’t figure out why it would be bad for thousands of men, women, and children who live in San Francisco (located in America) to be killed. Just like Beck thinks it’s good that people in southern California have their houses burn down.
Religious fundamentalists believe that anyone who does not follow their religion deserves to suffer or be killed. Religious fundamentalists and conservative republicans seem to have a lot in common. In many cases, they’re the same thing.
And remember, Ann Coulter feels that women shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Not because women are second-class citizens or because Coulter might very well be a man, but because they vote democratic. Just like the republican party doesn’t want blacks to vote — probably because they think blacks are genetically, morally, or intellectually inferior, but more likely because they vote democratic.
I have never heard any prominent democrat or progressive pundits, let alone the most popular ones, gloat over tornadoes or floods in red states. I have never heard them support terrorist attacks on entire cities who disagree with democrats’ vision of America. And I doubt I ever will. Democrats and progressives aren’t like that. They are able to tell why natural disasters and terrorist attacks are bad. Not just for the victims, but for all of us as Americans.
Beck’s comments probably won’t get the attention they deserve because conservative pundits like him say things like that all the time. It’s common for a popular conservative to call for those who disagree with them to lose their rights, their homes, and their lives. People like Beck, Coulter, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, John Gibson, and O’Reilly aren’t the fringe. They are the heart and soul of the republican party.

I guess the geniuses at the American's own Ministry of Truth (ahem, Fox News) don't mention the fact that the wildfires have primarily impacted the red counties of Orange and San Diego, who consistently sends Republicans to Congress as frequently as Alabama. And the fact that "Godless" San Francisco and the Bay Area have been spared disaster, and whose economy is doing nicely (isn't socialism great?)
