This election year the reactionaries on the right are descending from the mother ship in droves. (That is, all excepting Fred who fell asleep in another galaxy and is missing all the fun). Prominent among them in fund-raising ability, if not in the polls, is Dr. Ron Paul.
Ross Perot without the ears, the funny little man with the big plan whose campaign is alive and well in dorm rooms all over America. But let there be no illusion among the righteous anti-war public out there who understandably yearn to hear anyone who is on their side making noise, Ron Paul is no friend of progressives. As a matter of fact he as reactionary a right-wing zealot as there is, that just happens to be right on the war. For example, Paul is against a woman’s right to choose. The video above shows Ron Paul speaking to the National Right To Life convention on June 15th, 2007. Paul said,
Legislatively, we should focus our efforts on building support to overturn Roe v. Wade. Ideally this would be done in a fashion that allows states to again ban or regulate abortion.
Amidst the din of anti-war fervor, Ron Paul’s other primary message gets lost. Namely, that he does not support any piece of legislation not specifically authorized by the Constitution. Yes, Paul is a strict Constitutionalist, meaning he believes government should adhere directly to what the founding fathers wrote in the Constitution, just like justices Scalia, Roberta and Thomas do. Paul says that he does not vote for the passage of any legislation unless it is expressly authorized by the Constitution and it is this mantra that drives him.
Take Paul's position on the separation of church and state, which most Americans take to be one of the inviolate foundations of our Constitution.
The real tragedy is that our founders did not intend a separation of church and state. The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers.
Ron Paul votes against most bills that involve government spending. For example, he does not support legislation to combat global warming. Instead, he advocates reducing emissions “voluntarily” and is against the Kyoto treaty; just like President Bush. He is a proponent of abolishing the Internal Revenue Service and other large social welfare programs on Constitutional grounds and is anti-immigrant rights.
So, if Hancock didn’t pen it; forget about it. I wonder if Paul is against air traffic controllers keeping planes from crashing into one another and if Ron Paul contributors and supporters really know what this kook is all about.

A woman's right to choose was invented by the nazis as propaganda to use for the purpose of eugenics. That's why abortion is aimed heavily at poor people in urban neighborhoods, and at minorities. Its not just about her body its about another person living and growing inside her. No one is trying to interfere with a woman's right to her own body, we don't try and stop women from getting their gallbladders removed. And abortion is used mostly to discriminate against women in third world countries, aborting female babies because people don't want to give birth to girl in their society. And no one is ignoring Ron Paul's take on all the issues, that's why most of his supporters like him, because of all or most of takes on the issues.
