CNN: The most laughable political team on television.
If anyone out there caught Bill Schneider on CNN today, you're probably still giggling. I wish I had a video clip, because my description of him won't do him justice.
He was wearing a "driving cap", the jaunty little numbers you see Englishmen wearing in charming 1960s films. Unfortunately, the photo I posted above isn't so charming; the guy looks like he's hatching a murder plot, but you get the idea.
But back to Pop Schneider and his smiling pumpkin face. He proudly pointed out that he was wearing his "motoring costume" for his latest reporting excursion in the Big CNN Bus.
The hat was so oversized, so big and floppy, so disproportionate that it dwarfed his ordinarily enormous head and made him look like a Disneyized mushroom.
Or someone's dotty old grandfather who was trying to spiff up for a special occasion, unaware of his resemblance to a Bellevue inmate.
There's no better way than parading Geezer Captastic to emphasize that CNN has the best political team on television.

I saw Schneider's driving cap, and while it doesn't beat out the Dukakis helmet moment in the tank, it's right up there.
