Reading a lot of comments here, but what all this ultimately comes down to is: People like Kravis, Bush, Cheney. They seem to have no moral values. It's all about them; all about how they can enrich themselves.
Do you think for a moment that these are Christian values, although they have aligned themselves with the Neo-Con, Christian movement?

It's not about what Kravis does for a living. He is entitled to go for the gold. What bothers me is not what he does or even that he can make a living at it; it's the obscene income that is only subject to 15% taxes that gets to me. The money he makes spends the same as a teacher's, so why does the system permit the lower capital gains tax rate he pays? I understand it was originally to spur investment and economic growth in the US. Those were good goals, but it has gotten out of hand.

Someone pointed out that Kravis pays about $77 million in taxes. The actual amount is not what matters. What matters is the percentage of total income that is paid. Why should someone earning $40,000 pay a higher percentage of income taxes than someone earning $400,000,000?

Sarah use an open mind and look to the counterpoint. These companies are undervalued do to poor management, which is why he can buy them at a discount. I am from a small town I have seen poorly ran companies go out of business ..... and wiping the town clean. So yes he is a champion of industry, because someone has to screw up big time for him to make money.

And the national debt shows how narrow mind you really are 5 trillion compared to what??? what was last years GDP 17 trillion !!! and remember GDP is a measure of NEW growth in the ecomony .... so what is being 5,000 in debt when you make 17,000 a year ....perspective

He doesn't release his personal tax return as far as I am aware. The important point is that he pays only a 15% capital gains rate on much of his leveraged buyout profits when police officers, firefighters and teachers pay the normal 35% tax rate.

how much DOES the man pay in taxes? I am in full suppport of the sentiment you put forth, but feel the documentary would be even stronger if that figure was mentioned. Just curious...
