Really interesting piece on Rep. Kirsten Gillenbrand of NY, and what it takes to balance being in Congress, having a family and the downside of the office she holds (ahem...fundraising).
Give it a watch, and think about how our system of legislative representation have evolved (or, perhaps, devolved)...

Every democrat in congress needs to remember NOT to take their jobs for granted--especially freshmen members. Many came from normally republican districts where scandel and unusual
developments landed them in office--such as Gillenbrand.
All of them should act like their jobs are in jeapardy even if they are not.
In this congresswoman's case there may be a bloddy
primary which could help her in the end but we should put nothing past these desperate republicans.
