In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks George Bush and EPA's Christie Todd Whitman conspired to give false and even reassuring information to citizens that the air toxins were at a level safe for breathing without protective equipment. Reassured, workers and residents were lulled into a deadly false security. Whitman had to know that thousands of tons of asbestos that pulverized into dust in lower Manhatten and that safe breathing would require protective equipment. Hundreds of workers and citizens have become sick or have died as a result of Bush and Whitman's actions to deceive the American people. But resigning from the EPA didn't shield her from a civil suit rightfully brought against her and ultimately George W. Bush for wrongful death.
