August 28, 2008: Gainesville MoveOn holds VIGIL in Downtown Community Plaza hosted by Harold Saive and Fred Pratt.

Anne Marie Mattison delivered a moving speech about mothers grieving the loss of a child in Baghdad. Her son - 22 YO Jeffrey Wershow - was the first soldier from Alachua County to be killed while on active duty on July 6, 2003.

Attendees were urged and motivated to
contact Congressman Cliff Stearns, Congresswoman Corrine Brown, Senator Bill Nelson and Senator Mel Martinez to stop funding the illegal occupation of Iraq and start funding the immediate return of all US forces and military assets currently deployed to the quagmire in Iraq.
