Gainesville Florida - May 31, 2007: Gainesville Mayor, Pegeen Hanrahan dedicated May 31 as "The Gate of Philip" Day. The Gate is the work of renowned artisitic metalurgist - Yaw Owusu Shangofemi. Yaw's mentor is Philip Simmons - now 95 years old - who's ornamental metalurgy was admired in much of the 20th Century. (more)
