To Wil Johnston: These ARE public airwaves. The networks have to agree to certain terms set down by the FCC in order to use frequencies. There are reasons for this not the least of which they are allowed to purchase the right to use intagible frequencies which you as a citizen are therefore not allowed to use.

And the problem here is not that too many people in the debate limit how in depth the conversation is... because uh, the conversation isnt very deep to begin with much less when there are 3 very similar candidates... but that the debates are held by commercial media outlets who essentially package them like they are a sitcoms designed for short attention span America. They should be longer, with more candidates.

Seriously, am I the only one who doesn't seem to be completely focusing upon who'll get the nomination for President? There's also this little position called Vice President. He or she takes over should the President of the United States of America become unable to perform. Limiting the debates to only three people SERIOUSLY limits exposure of possible Vice-Presidential candidates. Especially with the seeming growing animosity between Clinton and Obama. Are they expected to both pick Edwards because he's the only one left? Honestly folks, it shouldn't take a Canadian to point out this not so minor detail.

I'm not a particularly big fan of Kucinich, and I don't necessarily think he should be included in every debate. While I agree that hearing a range of viewpoints is beneficial, the more people talking, the less in depth the conversation can be. Should all 173 (or whatever it was) candidates that ran for Governor of California have been included in a debate?

BUT, that said, I do think Kucinich should be allowed in this debate. NBC set down the criteria, Kucinich met them. Changing the rules in the middle of the game is low. Of course, I do wonder if the judge has any jurisdiction here or even if he does, what law could possibly tell a cable (not network) news channel what they have to include in their programming. That seems a bit scary. This is a private system, not public airwaves.

What don't you understand about "the people in Iowa and New Hampshire didn't vote for him". I give Democrats more credit than you do . . they know whose running, there is plenty of information on the web, etc. All I care about is a Democrat in the White House in 2009.

JFK, The media has a responsibility to give equal air time to all candidates running. Fox pushed Ron Paul out and now another huge corporate run media conglomerate is trying to do the same to Kucinich. The media has no right to abuse its power and it should not have ever been allowed to be privatized in such a way in the first place.

Are you people serious? Shouldn't Democrats support a more Democratic system? Doesn't that mean that all viewpoints should be given their fair time? Dennis may have been in debates before, but was rarely talked to. When he was asked questions, they were typically along the lines of "Do you believe in UFO's?" It's amazing that the media can pick our president, and the people follow like a good flock.

Unfortunately, this judge knows that even though his ruling is bullshit, that there is no time for an appeal to be heard. there is NO legal obligation for MSNBC to invite someone with 1% support to waste valuable and limited airtime. The people have already spoken, and they have spoken out AGAINST the wacko Kucinich. Not just the last two weeks. But 4 years ago as well. For his own good he should stay hoime. He is just revealing himself to be more and more crazy.

Kucinich was in the race all along, has been in many debates and I support most of what he says. I am saying is that "at this point in the race" his participation is irrelevant; he is not going to win the nomination. He does not have low poll numbers because he hasn't been in debates. Do you think there are any Democratic voters that don't know who Dennis Kucinich is? They have not voted for him; that's a shame let's move on. All this "do the right thing" Nader stuff won't mean shit when McCain wins in November and appoints two Supreme Court Justices and we stay in Iraq for years to come.

This is exactly why we need to look at real issues and vote based on that. Most people make their decision very prematurely for the election. Who is really choses our canidates, who slowly weeds them out. The Media. Look at the issues and don't vote on whether someone says your canidate is "feasible"

As long as you are denied to be in the political debates, of course you will have low polling rates. As we saw in New Hampshire the polls are not really correct and people still can get to the top in a few days.

Sorry. Kucinich is a great progressive voice and should stay involved in American political life. But it's absurd he be included in a debate for president. He does not have the support of enough voters, is not winning anything, is insignificant in this race and will only play the role of attack-dog harming the other three. To what end? McCain is beating Clinton/Obama/Edwards handily in new polls just released. I would think that would be a far greater concern than this. This is why Democrats lose elections, no pragmatism, no reality check. Ralph Nader - almost 3 million votes.

MSNBC's exclusion of a running candidate is another example of corporations getting in the way of a true democracy in which we can allview and judge for ourselves. Paul Tullis would have us believe the higher ups think Keith Olbermann runs MSNBC when the question we should be asking is to what extent is NBC;s parent company General Elctric (which received $2.2Billion in defense contracts in 2005 alone) doing its bit to silence the strongest voice against war and military spending? In the interest of fairness and full disclosure, shouldn't we all want to hear all the candidates still in the race? For true democracy we need honest uncensored debates. I believe Kucinich is doing what most Obama and Edwards followers wish their candidates had the guts to do: Seek impeachment for the WMD lies which have cost so many lives on both sides of this conflict. True single-payer universal healthcare: industrialized countries around theworld believe good health is every citizen's right, and though democrats in general are tending towards this viewpoint, only Kucinich has the guts to face the wrath of the drug companies by offering a NOT-FOR-PROFITsystem. Gay Marriage: Kucinich is the only one to truly offer EQUAL rights to all regardless of sexual orientation. Immediate withdrawal from Iraq: The other Democratic candidates either Voted for the War in the first place, like senator Clinton, or seem too afraid to be labeled soft on terrorism. Nobody defends terrorism, but has anybody forgotten what this war was supposed to be about? Iraq's WMDs?Which they didn't have? Why doesn't the US go after the many other dictators which the US has ties w... right. Saddam was armed by the US andsadly so was Bin Laden. The administration relies on xenophobia, fear-mongering and misinformation to push their own interests. If someone is courageous enough to stand up and call them on it, they uninvite him from the debates. So much for democracy.
