Since Congressman Chris Van Hollen made the announcement on C-Span, that no impeachments would occur during the 110th Congress, maybe he (Pelosi,&Hoyer) should go, too!

It is estimated that the deaths of innocents in Iraq - non-combatants - women and children - elderly and young. IS IN THE MILLIONS. Wake up to the nightmare!

They don't want to post pictures of their bloody hearts and minds and heinously tortured and mutilated bodies. We only hear of the technical aspects of torture 101, colloquially known as water boarding. How about those that don't make it? Who is really behind the death squads in Iraq.

maybe murdering entire families while their children watch, then raping, murdering and burning their virgin daughters bodies is pre-meditated psychological torture.... what else is happening there that we don't hear about. Perhaps there are others who will stand up and make it known.

The war in Iraq and US Middle East policy is most often justified as a means to spread democracy. Not only has it undermined democracy, e.g. the US Patriot Act, but it has also undermined the basis of democracy, the rule of law. The unilateral abrogation by the US (and its allies) of international treaties, including the Geneva Conventions, and the White House refusal to respond to Congressional subpoenas are visible and visceral lessons to the world at least that "US-style democracy" is morally bankrupt, an abomination, and an insult to humanity.

Few are given any reason to think otherwise.

This is no way to spread democracy. Hasn't democracy always--and by definition--been spread by the people themselves, in the right time and under the right circumstances?

You might just as well educate children to be adults by submitting them to imprisonment, starvation, or rape--no truer lessons of life, and a sure way to make sure these heinous acts are repeated forever and ever.

I agree completely that ending the Fairness Doctrine was the root of all evil. How else could George Bush get enough votes to even get close enough to steal the election. He caused the death of a million people. He should have been hung, but the media fed us enough propaganda for him to be two term president.

It all boils down to what Reagan did in 1988, bowing to pressure from the right, by abolishing the “Fairness Doctrine". The fairness doctrine was the law of the land since 1932. This allowed channels like Fox News and Rush Limbaugh to come to existence. Ninety two percent (92%) of radio talk show hosts now are of the right wing persuasion. Public airwaves belong to the public and the fairness doctrine must be restored. Insist that the presidential candidates promise to restore the fairness doctrine and to bust the 5 media monopolies which control our thought process.
