Tonight, George W. Bush will be delivering the State of the Union address FOR THE LAST TIME! Hard as it is to fathom, the time has finally come….and what better excuse for a party?
Join Brave New Films, The Young Turks and the Drum Major Institute for live coverage of SOTU tonight, beginning at 5pm PT/8pm ET. We’ll watch the speech (with running commentary, of course), yak with the experts, live blog, and savor this very, very special moment.
WHAT: SOTU Party hosted by Cenk Uygur and Christy Harvey
WHEN: 5pm PT/8pm ET
WHERE: http://bravenewfilms.org/network
And our illustrious guest list, before the speech:
- Sam Stein from The Huffington Post

- Newsweek’s Eleanor Clift
Following the speech:
- Syndicated columnist David Sirota

We're partnering with the Drum Major Institute tonight because they’re the go-to think tank when it comes to defending against the Bush administration's attacks on the middle class. After the speech, DMI policy wonks will be burning the midnight oil, putting together a bulletproof response to Bush's soak-the-rich domestic agenda. That report will be posted at drummajorinstitute.org a few hours after the speech ends.

This was great. Normally I run at the glimpse of Shrub's smarmy face, but the company of good people made it possible to watch the speech. Many of the viewer comments were extremely keen.
If you do this again, along with a Republican candidates' debate, I might manage to watch one of those, too. Thanks.
