This was part of JGs'comment: "It's interesting to me that Obama excels speaking to a lot of people, but you don't get that same energy when it's just him and the camera."
This is true of many people. Crowds become an automatic, almost sublimal stimulant to many gifted speakers and are often at their optimum when addressing one. With a camera directly in your face a kind of unconscious unease will set in. Speaking to a crowd, you see the crowd and not the cameras. You become electrified yourself and your intellect rises to seize the moment..
Absolutely nothing strange about that..
As for repeating what was said in S.C. - you really can't change your message. All candidates do the same..
