True Colbert is a comedian and making fun of people is his job, but Nic show the clip to your bishop or stake president and see if they laugh. Colbert showed a lack of class and a lack of creativity (are his writers still on strike???). I'd feel the same about it if he was making fun of the Pope. There are certain lines even comedians shouldn't cross. I didn't laugh once and I'm a strong mormon.

Everyone here needs to calm down. Colbert does comedy, it is his job. He makes fun of everyone and everything. I am a strong mormon, and I was not offended by this in the least.
All you mormons out there who got offended, if the Catholic Pope had died and Colbert did the same bit about the Pope, would you still be offended? No you would probably laugh.

News flash "Charlie"...... Mormons ARE Christians! They believe in Christ. Hence - they are Christians. Good on ya' for having NO knowledge about your own wife's religion! 12 million people in mourning, whatever. My wife is Mormon and the night he died she called her sister in law but didnt want to wake her parents with the news because they were SLEEPING. We went on to watch a movie and she was not crying or upset. We are talking about a 96 year old man that had a good life and I can see some people being upset but Stephen Colbert does comedy, he is not being specific to Mormons, he does comedy about Christians too.

There are twelve million Mormons and at least 39% of them go to church and actually mourned the loss Gordon Hinckley. The rest think that clip was fetchin funny. Note the Mormon use of the word fetchin.

Awesome. Colbert can make fun of anyone because he is God. Though he never made fun of Hinckley. He should have.

I can't remember a time when you've had to mock the dead to get laughs. I understand the fake pundit charade. Make fun of your writers. Make fun of Romney (I love the Guy Smiley reference). But people such as Gordon B. Hinckley, who have worked to bring much good into the world, don't deserve to be mocked within mere hours of dying. I'm disappointed.
