What I don't get is how people can actually listen to this crap without getting a headache. I mean, despite the crap they are talking about, what about the way they are saying it. It even sounds like it's complete crap.

Public airwaves belong to the public and the fairness doctrine must be restored. The councilman was on point. Chavez is not the bad guy American politics would like you to believe. Fox is so far right that they talkover anyone with information they do not want the public to hear. The fact they swore at the councilman is absolutely outrageous. I hate Fox news. By the way did anyone see police by the hundreds throwing pepper, bullystick, etc. on the protestors. They would have if people were marching here and making so much noise and drawing attention. Listen up you Fox Idiots. Learn to read, look at all opinions before you follow the crazy news Fox. The last time I checked being fired is when the boss calls you into the office and say's "heres your last pay check clean out your desk and leave your key's to the office on my desk" not we're not going to renew your contract for the next two years or so! when your fired you are out the door that day, when your contract is up you usually no about it at least 6 months ahead of time I think ther is a difference.

Sorry, one more thing. It was also unprofessional and just pathetic of Cavuto to introduce the councilman's opinion by saying that he claimed the whole thing was "blown out of proportion." He never said that, he never intimated that. Cavuto totally put words into his mouth. What he said was that the situation was being misrepresented, that there were truths that were not being reported, that the reporting was very one-sided. He questioned Fox News' ethics, but NEVER said that it was being blown of proportion.

Wow, this is unprofessional on so many levels. This councilman was right to point out that he only interviewed on person, whose father is being held as a political prisoner (he assumes she's being honest when she says he's being held for his opinions; he has NO way of verifying that)...that's not objective reporting at all. The he swears at the guest. Look...if you're going to have a person with a crazy opinion, fine. That's your prerogative. What irks me is that Fox News invites people with crazy views and then screams at them. If you're so pissed at them, don't give them a platform to speak. But, as we've seen time and time again, they're not actually interested in the news or the truth, they're interested in entertainment. That's why they constantly pull stunts just like this one.

Fox is pretty much worthless for any degree of objective reporting. The term: "Fair and balanced" is irony at it's finest. Fox reporters are cheap journalist hacks.

I think the councilman did a great job of bringing visibility so some of those items that wouldn't have even been mentioned by Fox, and he didn't back down even though Neil and that ape of a reporter on the scene were on the attack.

You really have to ask yourself why a 'news' station would fail to mention some of the more blatantly relevant pieces of background here. Answer: they have their own agenda.

They don't report the news, that's left up to the noble profession of journalists at other news stations, instead they report what they want you to hear and believe. Wake up Fox News viewers, you are all being played.

I absolutely agree with the fact that Neil and his correspondent are bullying the councilman - "so you love the guy" - and not really interested in hearing rational answers. However, the councilman is not helping his cause by oversimplifying the issue. I believe, all in all, that Chavez is doing good things. But you know what they say about absolute power, etc... He has some abuses under his belt already, and the councilman would come off with a bit more credibility if he admitted that. The councilman was right in everything he stated in this interview. If any U.S. TV station had done a fraction of what RCTV did to support the coup of a democratically elected president, they would have been closed down immediately. RCTV was allowed to complete their licensed term, extending five years after the coup. That is a level of tolerance that is not shown in many countries.
Also, I was in Venezuela in June and most of the people I spoke with supported Chavez. The FOX reporter from the field in Caracas represents the level of "reporting" that characterizes Fox News: just repeat sound bites and mantras to indoctrinate the viewer to the fascist narrative that you are promoting, and when people question your narrative just vilify and insult them.

Fox News is idiotic, but so is this councilman. Does he speak Spanish? How does he know what the TV station said? It sure sounds like his words were written by a Chavez sympathizer. Chavez is as bad as Bush.
