To build nuclear weapon one should posses certain facilities to assembly the weapon. It is a very large project, and it is quite costly because nobody wants to make nuclear weapon in gun-type style because it is too heavy. And therefore, useless.

Iran is not building WMD, not it posses a facility to make one.

They just need electricity, oil rafineries and other infrastructure, not weapons of war.

Nobody ever has and nobody ever will build a nuclear bomb the way that you people have been lead to believe Iran will. That is so obvious to our intelligence agencies and every nuclear scientist that the entire conversation is rediculous.

Although, it fooled you and probably will continue to fool you people just like the news did about the USA for sure to find WMD's in Iraq. Don't lie. I know all of you bought into that one as well, yet now you are acting like intellectuals again.

In this case, Iran is developing its own technology of various kinds, and they need energy in a form they need. Nuclear power plants are just part of solution.

On the other hand, US wants to stop them from solving their internal affairs, mainly because if Iran succesfully develops a strong economy, Iran will become a regional power with lot of potential, and of course it will be imune to all blackmale attempts by US.

So, it is not matter of WMD's it is just plain ol' US greed.

The extraction of wealth from countries that possess an abundance of resources by more dominant and powerful ones results is what is referred to as "capital flight". It is one-way only. What is obtained by means of witholding taxes,income taxes and royalties is often used up to buy medicines,drugs,equipment,machinery,food etc - often purchased from the same metropolitan countries.

As far as corruption goes, if you use India as an example, before the British invaded and took it over, a mans' word was "gold". Over time, some people grew into the British way of doing business - "You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours".
This was not limited to India only. All of its colonies and ex-colonies over time would have been infected with this mentality - from what is erroneously called the "Third World" to even countries like the United States. The paying of "kickbacks" as an example, is considered the cost of doing business. The prevalence and use of Lobbyists in Washington is corruption. Insider trading is corruption. Price fixing is corruption. Enron and World-Com execs are in prison because of corruption.

It is not merely a matter of corruption that some LDCs are in the state they are - It is because the dominant ones have used destabalising methods over decades upon decades to keep these States in a state of flux so their growth will be stunted and never become a threat or an equal on the world stage.

You're deluded if you think that having a majority white population is the determining factor in the post-independence success of those nations. Gross mismanagement, and corruption are the enemies of progress. Consider places like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Except for Malaysia they have no natural resources, and yet through hard work and good governance they have succeeded. In Africa, South Africa is a beacon of hope for the african continent.

Iran has certainly not been the only country "wanting to tend for themselves". The United States fought the British for their ability to "tend for itself' and won that right. Ever since that time no one has knocked on your door daring to tell you how to govern yourselves...
There have been countless countries in the past and the present that BOTH the UK and the US have exterted political and military force upon. From direct invasion to destabalising democratically elected Governments and installing dictators who answer to them rather than their own populations.

If one really looks at some ex-British colonies like Australia,Canada and the US and you compare them to ex colonies on the African continent,the Caribbean and Asia there is a stark difference. It is clearly by design that the ex-colonies that are mainly white run and white populated have exploded in growth and amassed great wealth while the others with a HUGE abundance of resources have constantly fallen behind.Look at the G-8 nations and it tells you a story..
It is nonsensical when people attribute it all to corrupt leaders in the countries that lag behind and completely ignore real history based on pillage and plunder - which still continues today.

And these are the "good guys" out to save the world!!
