I just checked Wikipedia, and he married Carol years after he left the Naval Academy . . . he even adopted her kids from her first marriage . . . so it's unlikely there was a relationship while he was there.

I'm guessing, Padders, that if this story keeps getting media attention, she'll soon be looking for "receptionist" work at another firm. As a rule, companies that are lobbying for special rights don't like to have their activities in the spotlight.

The thing that makes it so believable is how much Iseman and Cindy McCain look alike. Last night, as the story broke, Mrs. C asked me why he kept appearing in public and at rallies with his "mistress." She thinks the whole thing is "creepy."

Just saw a photo from the presser. Mrs. McPillPoppy looks severe. That is a woman who is pissed off.

She may be standing by her man, but that is the demeanor of a person who is angry.

At this point, just a staffer or aide that would actually come forward and say, "Yes, I did have a conversation with the Senator about his relationship with Ms. Iseman," would do. McCain denied that happened too.

At this point, the question is if there is the equivalent of the little blue dress (what kind of freak was she, anyway? keeping a semen stained dress?)

Are there people that can talk about hotel room meetings? Finger-entwined dinners? Anything? Or have they all been paid off already.

Don't know why the reporters shy away from the direct questions. They had no problem with Clinton in the 90s:

"Did you have any kind of sex with the whore who looks like a younger version of your wife?"

Sadly, Red America doesn't seem to care too much about ethical problems. Steal billions, kill millions and they don't bat an eye.

I believe there was a series of questions from one reporter near the top end of the presser. She asked point blank if he had a romantic relationship with Iseman . . . McCain responded "No."

Sex sells. People care about sex. Compare and contrast the Clinton blow job vs the Lott Abramhoff scandals. One was obviously so important to the fate of the nation that we had to impeach. The other, involving billions of dollars and corruption at the highest levels was just a small blip on the radar.

Double weird to have her stand beside him knowing full well that their affair will be written about now. I guess the message is that his mistresses stand beside him.

In his 1999 statement explaining his intention to vote for the conviction of Clinton in articles of impeachment, McCain said: "The tortured explanations with which the President's attorneys have tried to defend him against both articles fail to raise reasonable doubts about his guilt."

I find it odd that he then hired Robert Bennett, Clinton's lawyer in the impeachment, to fight this scandal.

I think she needs to have it pulled back so that her tight forehead and constantly-arched eyebrows look "natural."
