The Keating 5 was a HUGE scandal -- part of the savings & loan crises that cost taxpayers billions. McCain was one of the 5. The influence peddling part of this latest scandal opens the door for that scandal to be rehashed. A scandal that happened before some new voters were even born. I think this aspect could have a lot of impact on independent voters who have been leaning toward McCain.

That's when he knew he was a Republican. At least the divorce papers weren't served to her while she was receiving chemo at a hospital, like with Newt.

John McCain is a war hero and was tortured. Indisputable facts. He is also an adulturer and a hypocrite. There are many war heroes that don't sell out their country's reputation and standing as a moral nation to win elections.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be part of a campaign against him . . . it just needs to be stealthy. As a politician, I think the guy's a class-A prick, but he did spend years as a POW, and was tortured. For that, he will always be a war hero . . . despite what the other side would do if the rolls were reversed. I know the media would fall all over themselves to defend McCain from the pansy-ass Dems who don't love America like John McCain does.

The most effective way to highlight McCain's health and age will come in the debates. Assuming Obama wins, just think about those two standing next to each other on a stage . . . it will be a real eye opener for many in the country.

It may not be fair, but it's legit. Age does matter, since the average American male lives to 76 ( or was it 77?) He has a history of strokes- he'd have to have a 25 Amendment letter ready to go.

Let's hide the effects of the health issues affecting a seventy year old plus candidate. We don't want people think he might have a stroke again and die, now, leaving whoever is VP in charge. That wouldn't be fair.
