This is all the Clinton spin... Look, she lost by over 20 points... She has to try to save face, so she's going after his lack of white voters... I say the math doesn't add up... If only 30 percent of the populace is black, that means twice as many are white... So if he won 60 percent, my math says there's a lot more whites there than blacks who voted for Obama... D.

Agreed, Clancino, that the GOP crossover voters are propping up Hillary's numbers. Certainly, evidence suggests that they gave her the win in the primary part of the Texas contest. To be fair, Obama is getting a fair number of crossover votes from center-right and independent voters. Mostly, however, these are people disillusioned with the Republican party and candidate options, and will likely vote for Obama in November.

Hillary's GOP crossover voters, on the other hand, are far right voters who are voting Dem in the primary to game the system, as you said. Because of course, they see it all as a game to begin with. The problem for Hillary and the Dems is that there is no reasonable expectation that these people would vote for Hillary in Nov. Just the opposite, in fact. Not that that matters at all to the Clinton's campaign, who actually had Bill go on the Rush Limbaugh show on Super Tuesday to encourage voters to switch over and vote for Hillary!

I've been resisting the tinfoil hat theory regarding Clinton's plans but am pretty much convinced at this point that the strategy is if Hillary can't get the nomination, then they are going to make sure that Obama doesn't get the presidency so that Hillary can run again in four years.

Most of these reports on white vote/black vote in Mississippi seem to be missing the obvious: the white vote was overwhelmingly in favor of Clinton because white republicans were gaming the system. One-fourth of all Clinton voters in MS were registered GOP. Oddly enough, in exit polls, the same ratio of her "supporters" held strongly favorable opinions of McCain, and one in three believed she was not trustworthy. If these republicans had not voted, Obama's victory would have been overwhelming. These jerks likely cost him 2, and perhaps 4, additional delegates.

Reporting on the Mississippi primary stressed the effects of the African-American vs the white vote. In the case of the Texas primary, we heard about the Hispanic vote, and in Huckabee's bid the evangelical vote was said to be important. Why are these four categories regarded as voting blocks while others, such as Asians, Jews, Catholics, etc., apparently are not? For that matter, are there not black, white and Hispanic evangelicals? Bandying about these group designations in order to determine voting patterns seems to have dubious value.
