Mar 31 - U.S stocks ended a brutal quarter with a rally sparked by encouraging economic data.The Dow rose 46 points on Monday to 12,262.89, but fell 7.6 percent in first quarter. The S&P 500 gained 7 points to 1,322.70, but lost 9.9 percent in the first quarter. The Nasdaq rallied 17 points to 2,279.10, but posted a 14 percent quarterly drop.
