I just got home from seeing premier of Michael Moore’s newest movie Sicko. – Wonderful for my field-childbirth and for all citizens regarding ALL aspects of their health.
Just regarding childbirth – It mentioned infant mortality rate in US -highest in all the industrialized nations and it goes by fast but look for it - he showed a birth room with the cheaper than surgical (c-sections) and healthier BIRTH BALL and low to the ground bed (Futon) low-on the ground for birth, later in movie he showed a postpartum doula in the home of a women – he called her a nanny – and this will most definitely need to be addressed- although in my state of NJ they like to push Pills for PPD- Post Partum Depression. Politicians like to pat themselves on the back for passing health laws that do nothing to correct the major problems of health care in our state or nation.
Over all – his film was genius and will make the impact that is needed in America to wake up the citizens regarding how they are dying from lack of quality medical care and a system that is based upon corporate profit rather than the over all health of every single citizen.
