My first comment is that you want the noun "effect" and not the verb "affect".
The Israeli lobby is not powerful unless you consider money to be power. The lobby spreads money around, to bribe officials so that they can "affect" legislation beneficial to Israel and the "effect" is deleterious to the interests of the United States.

There is absolutely no basis for this so-called "special relationship" we're suppose to have with Israel. That is pure hogwash and no one can define exactly what this special relationship consists of or who decided that we should have it.
Certainly the American public never got to vote on this issue or for that matter, on the annual grant of 3 billion of our tax dollars each and every year since Israel's inception. The jewish lobbies have too much power within our government and not just the Congress where their power and influence is immense but in many other key posts in the State Department and the Defense Department. Ask any member of Congress!
Any thinking person has to be impressed with the endless parade of our candidates who each try to outdo the other in bowing before the jews. If nothing else they should certainly be impressed with the fact that Israel alone, is the point on which they all not only agree, but try their damndest to illustrate their undying devotion and allegiance. It is no stretch to say that our politicians express more devotion and allegiance to Israel than they do to their own constituents and that is not only shameful but treasonous. Each Israeli sycophant should be voted out of office. No one sent them to Washington to represent Israel!
