I'm glad Obama came out to defend himself also.
I like Rev. Wright and all he has said. I am a defender of Rev. Wright because I understand he is a MAN of God and will make mistakes too, but still a brother of the human race and NO one can tell me how I should feel about this.
Rev. Wright has a right to his opinion just like the media has a right to publicize, edit, chop up his statements. The fact is, Rev. Wright has brought up many issues the black community would like to have an open and honest discussion about.
I'm NOT SURPRISED the media rather focuses on Rev. Wright (messenger) and not focused on the MESSAGE. The fact is, Rev. Wright is CORRECT to bring up why our own government has not apologized to blacks for slavery, yet has apologized to everyone else for wrongdoings. This is DIS-RESPECT in our face so when you get people like me with a strong opinion - the TRICK of the racist is to point the finger and say that we are racist. THAT is DECEIT. That will not work, ever.
When Rev. Wright repeated the words of an Iraqi Ambassador that the "Chickens are coming home to roost" is a phrase I've repeated many many times when unfortunate situations have happened here on our shores. You think America can get away with SLAVERY, murder, maim and all the rest that came with the institution of slavery and go scott free?
I've said many times to racist on the net how I see them on my TV on the news crying when their houses are tossed in the air (Tornadoes) or they have their homes covered in water (Floods) realizing there are innocent casualities. Yes, the chickens do come home to roost in many forms...it's all nature and people who don't believe in God don't understand this concept. This is my view...none the less!
Rev. Wright brought up many points we all should discuss and quit evading these social ills. We need ATONEMENT and RECONCILATION. Black Americans, the truest of all Americans who actually built this country when white Americans sat around and watched...paid our price with FREE service to this country.
Barack Obama did the right thing and I'm happy for him. I support him, yet I also agree and suppoort Rev. Wright also. They are two different people with two different sets of ideas.
THANKS MEDIA - for exposing who Rev. Jeremiah Wright is because before this fiasco, I had no idea about the man. THANKS MEDIA!
