It's a fact that Obama was not well known before his run for the presidency. His initial run by most everyone's description was a bit like that of a rock star's. He had never been challenged, nothing was known about his past, his public record hadn't been scrutinized. In the course of all of that coming to the surface, some flaws have appeared and he has handled many of the issues really poorly which does speak to one's judgement under pressure. For instance his refusal initially to reject and denounce the ego-maniacal, racist, bigot and hate-filled lunatic Reverend Wright.

Why has 90% of black people voted for Obama? I'd ask you the same question about white people but I read it in the polls that exposed that whites voted by race towards Hillary. A large percentage.
However, I understand there are also plenty of white people who are voting for Obama. God Bless them!

I can't answer that question for other blacks, but I would guess they see a very decent man with character, proving he is about unity through his campaign efforts and grassroots organization, his vision for America that brings about change and respect, again. I voted for Obama, I don't hate him at all. I think that perceptions of people can change though and I am certainly less enamored with him now then I was a year ago. Me and millions of other people. He was an unknown and now more is known about him. I still would vote for him but the teflon god image is gone as polls and election results show. The reality is that 50% of well meaning liberals and Democrats prefer Hillary Clinton to Obama based on experience.

I would warrant that I have done more in my life to promote civil rights than you have and I don't divide by race as you have. 90% plus of African-Americans vote for Obama with most doing so because he is an African-American. The difference between Hillary and Obama is Hillary made those statements out of her own mouth. Obama, is judged by the statements of another man - Obama himself did not make those statements. Quite a difference to black people and another example of how different we may think, as inferenced by Rev. Wright. But most, didn't want to hear about that!

The fact the two have few differences on policy as you reference, is one reason why I have focused on the "person" in this discussion. I too, do not want to see John McCain elected! That would be America's downfall for sure.

I read and pay attention to what others say, but this discussion has only been between only you and I.

Bosnia is not worth talking about in any serious context. I don't care what someone remembered or not about an insignificant event a deacde ago. Same goes for Obama; I don't care what he remembered about Wright sermons years ago. If you think Obama hasn't or doesn't lie you are more naive than it appears which woul be saying something.

I'd rather talk about the issues and the fact is that Clinton and Obama by almost every single expert's analysis have few differences on policy. I do not really care which one of them is elected as long as the choice is not John McCain.

Electibility is everything and that is what the super delegates should vote on. If they think that Obama is more likely to beat McCain vote for him. If they think Hillary is more likely to beat McCain, then vote for her. Makes a great deal of sense to me and that is why there are super delegates.

You also keep asking for facts as to why you should vote for Hillary when I keep telling you that I didn't vote for her and don't think you should if you don't want to. But you clearly don't read or pay attention to what others say, you just can't wait to spew more sophmoric nonsense isn't that right.

WNTW - I defend Rev. Wright for speaking out against injustice. I defend Wright because he has a right to his own opinion, just like you. You say that I'm defending a racist and bigot based on the few things you've heard him say, one thing in particular, that "the U.S. created AIDS to get rid of people of color." I've said this once and I'll repeat: I agree with MOST of what he said, not all. His reference about AIDS was due to his experience of our nation and the Tuskeegee experiment carried out on black people. All of a sudden, people are shocked he would say such a thing?!!! He's not racist for speaking the truth about injustice. The fact that many of these things he speaks against has to do with whites who control these situations - is not racist. I imagine you see it that way, I don't. You think he's a bigot - well I've seen and come across the many bigots in our society and they don't look like Rev. Wright. As for Hillary - I would have liked her more had she not 'whimpered' and cried after losing in New Hampshire's primaries. She came on TV and did a little acting and the people fell for it. Some people said: "she was showing her human side." I wonder what they would have said if Obama had done that! Signs of weakness for sure.

Hillary has lost way too many of her inside supporters. That raises red flags for me! Her supporters have defected to Obama. How many have left Obama for Hillary?

Hillary "mis-spoke" otherwise known as LIED to the American people similar to how Bill Clinton did when he pointed in the camera at Americans and claimed he had "no sexual relations with that woman" because he didn't characterize getting a "blow job" as sex.

Overall, I don't like Hillary's tricks she has played. How dare she call Obama an elitist. How dare Bill Clinton call Obama's supporters "elitist". Trust me, these are reasons why many black people do not like this, her campaign. I made statements about Bill Clinton and his adultery scandal; How Hillary "claims" she would have left Rev. Wright's church if she was in it, yet didn't leave her adulterous husband. I find that suspect to believe her. I spoke against Bill for making statements that Obama's supporters are "elitist" which he said - doesn't mean I'm slamming Hillary. But on the issues themselves. Clinton is willing to escalate a nuclear/near-nuclear exchange in the ME, while Obama is much better-equipped and committed to use his coalition-building experience and to commit to peaceful negotiations, no matter what. What makes you think, given her connections to conservative interests and persons, that Clinton would not appoint yet another Scalia? Obama does not have these connections, so I am confident he will not. While I am very disappointed that neither Obama or Clinton will commit to universal health coverage, I vastly prefer Obama's as heading us in the direction we need to be heading. While Clinton's health care policy involves governmental mandates, which I consider to be a corporate giveaway, Obama's involves the kind of expanded coverage that is more of a pre-universal coverage that I think will get us closer to real universal coverage than Clinton's.

How convenient to attack substantive positions by labelling them "psychobabble." Now I've had my bickering limit for the day. Bye-bye.

I'll tell you what it looks like to me: A piece that was put together for use AFTER Clinton is chosen to be the democratic candidate, as an attack piece (whether it's verified or not won't matter, as the swiftboating techniques have shown us) to be used against her in a race with McCain.

This should not be an opportunity for progressives to beat up on one another for believing what we saw in a video. This should be an opportunity for us to witness first-hand how dirty republicans are willing to play, both in subverting the elections process to get the democratic candidate they want to run against on the general election ticket, and in unfairly smearing that candidate in the final race.

Well, with all due respect that is what happens when one has "an agenda". The truth takes a back seat to the agenda. The agenda here and elsewhere lately is clearly to attack, demonize and villify all things Hillary including anyone even remotely connected with Hillary. It was always highly unlikely for anyone who knows who Mickey Kantor is that he would ever have said anything like what the video purports.

Sam Stein broke the story, he has now concluded that it is a hoax, and now Mickey Kantor has denied ever having used the "n" word in any context ever. He is also looking into legal action against whomever it was who posted what is clearly a video lifted from a film and then either doctored to make the original dialogue seem like something it isn't, or using the fact that audio isn't clear to make up a meaning.

I've seen The War Room, and there was never a moment I heard anything remotely like the moment highlighted in this video.

Despite this, here we have three comments that assume a truth for which there is no real evidence.

I would hope to hear that they are somewhat ashamed that they made this comments on the basis of a deliberate hoax. But clearly it doesn't matter whether or not its true, not for these people. Here we have the true divisiveness in the Democratic Party. I voted for Obama, but I'm beginning to regret it.

Now I understand why the Clinton camp keeps losing superdelegates and support for her nomination. Not just from watching this clip, but watching her campaign strategy all the way through. Obama makes a heartfelt statement, reflecting reality, that misinformed people tend to misplace their personal anger about one set of problems onto a target that's conveniently and noticably being set up by another group of people invested in Americans believing that "illegals," or "liberals," or "welfare queens" are responsible for their not having enough money in their take-home pay to provide for themselves and their families, while people extremely close to the Clinton's make statements like this that reflect a shocking disconnect from, ignorance of, and outright disrespect for people who don't live in either NYC or San Francisco.

Obama understands the concerns of the people described as working class whites, which includes me and my family, btw, and works to bring our concerns into the general concerns of the American government, while the Clinton people prey on this demographic's weaknesses and use them to get votes, when all the while her policies reflect the interests of rich, elitist corporate America!

Her ME policy? A wet dream for the war profiteering industry.
Her health care policy? A wet dream for the health insurance industry.
Her support for the gas tax "holiday?" A gimmicky non-solution that does nothing more than give working people less than $30 over a 3-month period, $30 which is their money in the first place! She's just moving the money from our infrastructure budget, which we paid for with our taxes, into providing incentive for increased demand for ExxonMobil, all the while throwing us the wing tip of less than $30!

How does she get away with this?!

Every single one of her policies shifts OUR tax money from OUR pocketbooks and OUR institutions to U.S. industries that include the war profiteering industry, the health insurance industry, the energy industry, and on and on and on.

If you're going to post a video like this, the least you can do is get it out into the mainstream in time for it to make a difference with the very people who stand to lose the most by her policies.
