This is becoming curiouser and curiouser. It started publicly with Huckabee at the NRA meeting. Then Hillary on a TV appearance. Now a "journalist". Is this a sublimal "seed of an idea" message to any racist nut with the means to do what they see to be hoping for? What would make such instigators ANY different from typical MOB behaviour in knocking off competition or spouse or business partner killings when they stand in their way?
Isn't that the "American way" of getting rid of people - both at home AND abroad that goes back to Lincoln?

I agree with the other comments. It was my impression, after seeing the original video of Trotta with her heinous remarks, that what she said constituted a terroristic threat. Upon seeing her Faux apology, I am sickened by her demeanor. If she were even slightly sincere or contrite, there would be a very different tone of voice, choice of words, and type of delivery. I consider myself someone with a good sense of humor, but assassination is not a topic I ordinarily associate with hilarity.
I really do not understand why legal action has not been attempted against her. What would have happened to someone who made a similar "lame attempt at humor" against McCain? or any other candidate for that matter?
Is there a lawyer who can educate me on this issue? Isn't any average citizen protected against terroristic threats, let alone someone running for public office?

She's a LIAR! She knew what she was saying and how it would come across. If that comment was addressed to George Bush she would already be arrested or fired. She basically called for a public hit against a presidential canidate. Isn't that against the law. Whay is she still employed? And why hasn't she been arrested for insiting a death threat.

“A lame attempt at humor?” Well I believe this was just a lame attempt at an apology. For Liz Trotta to have the audacity to first tie Osama to Obama (again!), second suggest that if possible "knock both of the two off", and then think that an apology will simply repair the damage done? If it were up to me, her employment would be immediately terminated, and Fox News would be severely fined! Also, one could make the case that what she said could eventually lead to criminal negligence charges to be brought upon her and the network! Truly an utterly disgraceful!

This lady and the FOX network are lame, whenever 90+ percent of the media is controlled in the hands of 5 companies one has to look at examples such as this as a mirror of the progress socially we have really made in this country. Osma and Obama are completely different and her apology is further insulting to the viewing audience and to Mr. Obama himself.
