When over 2,500 doctors come forward, urging John McCain to provide full public disclosure of his medical records, it warrants national discussion. McCain severely limited access to his medical records back in May
(20 reporters had only 3 hours to review 1,173 pages without any cameras, cell phones, or photocopying), giving rise to serious doubts about his already questionable health history.
His secrecy and evasiveness were eerily reminiscent of the egregious dishonesty and manipulation of information we've seen from the Bush administration for the past eight years.

at least sometimes being original.

However--

much of the Stewart oeuvre really
requires a hefty heave of bong
to be perceived as truly funny.

-Not a good sign.

See, here's the problem. I actually teach comedy writing at the university level, and LiberalViewer is spot-on with his criticism of the way Fox framed the clip. The joke is one in which an initial setup (McCain's 1200 pages for eight years) is contrasted with a juxtaposed image or idea later in the joke (Obama's one page for 21 years). This technique is designed to illicit two separate laughs, and is frequently used in political satire for an effect much as Stewart achieved--one nice laugh early, followed by one raucous laugh later. The audience is surprised, therefore, by one joke with two cumulatively funnier punch lines.

So...technically speaking, Fox's claims to be showing "the joke" are demonstrably inaccurate as "the joke" lives or dies by both, not one, of its punch lines.

There is no denying that that FOX is a favoritism for Republican candidates on FOX, but the same could be said for CNN being Democratic. It doesn't matter anyway... you'd be naive to think some higher ups don't have more of a say in this than we do.

Terrifying to think that McCain's health issues could potentially place Palin in charge of this country!

I really don't know what faux news was trying to do, it looked like a pathetic attempt to poke fun at Obama. I do believe that they intentionally cut out any mention of mccain and his medical novel, but the joke on Obama doesn't make sense to me, but I dont' watch any faux news because none of it makes any sense.

Liberal Viewer is a little to bias for my liking. I hate Fox News, but come on now, this is a reach. Everybody knows that McCain's file was really detailed. So I really don't have a problem with them poking fun at Obama... This time that is.
