Obama did not win by a slim margin. Obama had 2,159 delegates while Clinton only had 1,925 or so. That is a wide margin.

Popular votes? The nomination wasn't based on that criteria, hence why Clinton didn't win the nomination - use another argument.

Hillary as VP? Her supporters are already changing parties (as they claim) because Hillary didn't win so her importance in this role seems frivolous. Hillary would better serve Americans focusing on Healthcare and other important issues in a variety of roles, why must we only relegate her to the VP role? It's all about HER supporters who would rather vote for McCain (regardless that Clinton and Obama are very similar in approach) because they can't see voting for a black man. Never mind the 'content of his character' they only see color - BLACK.

To you supporters of Clinton - Obama won without you! Get a clue and common sense and support the Democrats or be stupid and let's have four more years of the same! Whatever you choose - so be it!

I agree with all that but why oh why has she chosen to make it so hard for him. If he takes her on after the way that she has been acting it may look bad.

How Obama handles the situation with Hillary Clinton will be a revealing test of his leadership abilities and skill at motivating and inspiring the Democratic party.

The reality is that Obama won by a very slim margin and Hillary's popularity amog mainstream Democrats is significant and not open for debate. Political pragmatism and fairness would dictate that Obama finds a meaningful, respectful place for Hillary Clinton and her supporters in what will have to be a more moderate coalition going forward.

He should choose someone now (Jim Web) and give Hillarys supporters more time to forgive and forget.

I read somewere that a job in healthcare reform would be a good concession for Hillary. If so he should also also adopt her health plan which is much better than his.

I think it would be really hard for her to take it. You know how it is when you really really want something and then you have to settle for something else, you do your best at the job you're given, but damn it if it doesn't sting.

There is not an iceberg's chance in hell that Obama will choose Hillary to be his VP. There are a myriad of reasons, number one is Bill Clinton's liability due to his troublesome business connections lately.

This has never been a possibility, pundits and bloggers just like to hear themselves talk.

I'm with Jimmy Carter, it would be a huge mistake, adding a slew of negatives to the ticket.

That's ok wombab - The Governor would just name someone for the seat till it is filled through special elections. It is the 17th Amendment:
"When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct."

So rest assured. It shouldn't affect the numbers of Democrats in the Senate.
