JOHN MCCAIN: And by the way, in case you didn't remember, the first time that Gen Petraeus came back to testify and it wasn't certainly certain about the results of this new strategy, there was MoveOn.org a very liberal, very liberal, far left organization, that put an advertisement, full-page, in the New York Times. And it had a picture of Gen Petraeus, and it said, "Gen Petraeus or Gen Betray Us?" Now my friends, that was hard to believe that anybody would question the patriotism of a man like Gen David Petraeus, so on the floor of the senate we had a resolution condemning that ad. We condemned it. And Sen. Obama who was in the senator, er, the senate that day refused to vote. My friends, all of us, all of us Americans should defend any, uh, Gen David Petraeus and his thirty-five, or so, years of brave service to this nation. [applause]
