MCCAIN: "I see the majority of our information and knowledge and recommendations coming from the local, the state government. I am pleased now with the level of cooperation between the state government and the local government here in New Orleans, we know that was a problem in the past. These are the lessons learned...

"I would implement their recommendations as to how we need to move forward, and some of those recommendations are already there. One of the areas that I think needs to be attacked first at the federal government level is affordable housing."
