QUESTIONER: "What is your plan to help better the public school education system, especially in areas like New Orleans where they are bad?"

MCCAIN: "Number one, choice and competition, and the charter schools here - which have succeeded so well... that provides competition with the public schools."

"I think that one of the most important things, along with that, is rewarding good teachers. Good teachers must be rewarded."

"This issue of special education, very quickly, is gonna be even more important because we're seeing this terrible rise in autism in America."

"No Child Left Behind needs to be fixed, but No Child Left Behind, in my view, needs to be scrapped, because that means that we've failed entirely."
