TRANSCRIPT:
INTERVIEWER: "Hi Winnie, my name's Greg."

WINNIE FINELLI: "Hi Greg."

INTERVIEWER: "What did you think of the event?"

FINELLI: "I thought it was great."

INTERVIEWER: "What'd you like the most about it?"

FINELLI: "Well, I um I really like McCain because my top priority is national defense. But I was really impressed with the way he was able to relate to the crowd. His sense of humor was absolutely fantastic."

INTERVIEWER: "Yeah, he's a funny guy."

FINELLI: "I hadn't noticed that before."

INTERVIEWER: "What'd you think about his health care plan?"

FINELLI: "I've gotta tell you, I've got some partial feelings about health care and I agree with anything that says you can control your own. Frankly . . . I have a really wonderful healthcare plan and I'm really worried when I have to go on Medicare that I won't get as good health care as I do now . . . "

INTERVIEWER: "One more question, how do you feel about his Federal Gas Tax Holiday this summer?"

FINELLI: "You know, I think it's uhh, it's a campaign stunt. I mean really. Like I said, I love McCain. And it's a great and it will really help a lot of people, my goodness. I mean my son, he travels three hours a day to work and so man he'll love it. I mean does it really, I mean it's not a lot of money. So I think it makes people feel better."

INTERVIEWER: "So do you think, so when you say it's just a 'campaign', you think it's just because it's an election season and it's just what people want to hear?"

FINELLI: "Oh yeah, I do. It's what people want to hear."

INTERVIEWER: "Do you think it's at all a contradiction that he says he wants to get off, become energy independent, he ended on that note that it's important to achieve energy independence so we're not dependent on the Middle East for foreign oil. Do you think that's at all a contradiction that the Federal Gas Tax Holiday doesn't help that at all, it just encourages us to consume more oil because it brings down the cost?"

FINELLI: "I think he really does want to do whatever we can to fix the oil problem but I'm not confident that'll happen in my lifetime. But, you know. I still think it's just something that makes people feel happy right now . . . it's not a long term solution by any means [laughs]."
