JOHN MCCAIN: "I would also place some of the responsibility on the Congress of the United States, which funded pork barrel projects that were not only not needed, and certainly not as important as some of the projects that were needed here, including some projects that were funded here in New Orleans that shouldn't have been funded as far as priorities are concerned for the safety of the people of New Orleans [...] Have qualified people in charge, [...] have businesses involved far more heavily. [...] Don't sign some multi-billion dollar contract with some national organization that's never been here. Get the small businesses of New Orleans and the neighborhood involved [...]"
