The difference is that people would know that those are distorted images. People know what O'Reilly and Murdoch really look like, and it would be obvious that the images were altered. Chances are, most people didn't know what Jacques Steinberg looked like (or who the hell he was, for that matter) before Fox & Fags showed that libelous picture of him. They presented it as an actual photograph, not as a cartoon depiction or some obviously photoshopped imaged that you might see on the Daily Show.

I'm sorry. I'm with you guys in criticizing FOX for poisoning the airwaves with lies and distortions, but the charge that the "cartooning" of Steinberg resembles (as some have claimed) caricatures of Jews by Nazis is way off base. Yes, they did distort his features, but in no way does the image resemble anti-Semitic caricatures from WWII. There are one of two possibilities here: Bill is blindly biased and knows there is a huge difference between a cartoon and a doctored photograph; OR, he's blindly ignorant and doesn't see any difference.

I think it might be a little of both.

Nevertheless, the cartoon depictions of him were clearly...cartoon depictions. Anyone with half a brain can and at least one eye see that. Fox's shitty photoshop jobs (which I'd like to point out were never shown on the "Factor" for comparison) were presented as real pictures. Anyone who had never seen those men before would probably assume that's what the really look like. I think most people would assume that Bill O'Reilly isn't really purple and yellow, as his CARTOON depiction was.

maybe if he knew what a caricature was he would understand. A human portrait is a drawing of a human to accurate proportion and likeness. A caricature is actually a drawing of a human with distorted and exagerated features.
