Barack Obama tells supporters in Hawaii that the "Aloha spirit" is one of caring for those in need and that diversity is a strength.
"What's on the surface, what people look like, that doesn't determine who they are. And that the power and strength of diversity, the ability of people from everywhere...they're just Americans. All of us can work together and join together to create a better country," Obama said.
Obama is taking a few days off from the campaign to spend time in Hawaii with his family, including his grandmother who lives there.
