Gordon Smith, Oregon Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate, will not attend the GOP Convention and has resigned as State Campaign Chair for John McCain's campaign.

Smith has been increasingly distancing himself from McCain throughout this election beginning with running ads where he attempts to associate himself with Democrats.

Yet, Gordon Smith has voted with George Bush and McCain 90% of the time and has previously stated he "supports McCain 100%."
