AUDIENCE MEMBER: [...] Does your pro-amnesty position make it likely for you to stand with the NAFTA super highway and the emerging North American Union which threatens American sovereignty?

JOHN MCCAIN: No, I'm against it, it'll never happen when I'm President of the United States. We will never have it when I'm President of the United States. [...] My friends, our borders are broken. We have to secure our borders, we have to secure our borders first but we also have to have a comprehensive approach to immigration reform. Now we failed twice to enact immigration reform because the American people didn't believe us when we said we would secure the borders. One reason is in 1986 we passed a law that said we'd give amnesty -- we didn't secure our borders.
