JOHN MCCAIN: Public money should serve the public good. If it's me sitting in the Oval Office, at the Resolute desk, those wasteful spending bills are going the way of all earmarks, straight back to the Congress with a veto. You'll know their names. I'll make them famous, we'll stop this earmark pork barrel spending and we'll make it clear. [applause] And we'll make it clear that no earmark bill will be signed into law. And that will save many billions of dollars that can be applied to essential priorities, and above all to the care of our veterans.
