John McCain
Town Hall
Las Cruces, NM 08/20/08
TRANSCRIPT:
INTERVIEWER: Could you tell me a little about why you're here?
ALICE ANDERSON: I am here because the candidate Sen. McCain is here and I disagree with some of his votes in the senate. In particular, I disagree with his voting to authorize the Military Comissions act, which legalized torture and is particularly inappropriate for a man who was for five years a victim of torture to vote for torturing other people.
[ . . . ]
INTERVIEWER: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
ANDERSON: Let us remember American veterans. John McCain does not stand for American veterans. He stands for torture and cruelty and irresponsibility.
