We have a broken system for electing people. McCain has already broken his promise about conducting a "respectful" campaign. Because of the uncomfortable fact that politics is still a dirty business, often candidates cannot state details of a plan they may have in their heads because the needs of the campaign dictate against too much detail.

Every detail is a point the opponent can turn against Obama. I also look for Obama to get a bit more aggressive leading up to the elections, not from a desire to do so but from a political need to do so.

Obama will be of value only by winning. A dirty system may require a campaign that delivers the message necessary to be elected...not always the same message people really want to hear.

Life is tough but to get there, sometimes you need to do an end run.
