MRS. ROMNEY: "[...] When I was first diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and that was in 1998, and I became quite ill, I mean, overnight, I became desperately ill. And beyond having loss of my right side, and the numbness, and everything else was this overwhelming fatigue that now ruled my life. And it was at the same time that we got the call to go do the Olympics and to turn that around. And if you think about that, it really made no sense. I mean, I was very sick, our youngest son was a senior in high school, Mitt's business was doing well. And yet, there was no hesitation, we absolutely knew that was the right thing to do. And even for me, as sick as I was, I knew it was the right thing to do. So off we went. And as I was struggling with my health, and a little frightened, and worried about where I would end up. I remember actually even having a good deal of depression, being so overwhelmed, again with the fatigue that was now ruling my life. I remember, Mitt, again giving me encouragement and giving me hope to push through this. Because he would remind me too, he said don't worry, tomorrow will be a better day, I don't care how sick you get, together we can do anything, as long as we're together we can do anything. And that gave me the courage and the hope to push past that. I am so blessed to be here today, and to be strong and well, to be in remission. But there were some pretty hard times that I went through.
