Well it appears that this is not just your personal tragedy, but this is a national tragedy that is much bigger than KBR or the army would like for you and the American people to believe. This needs to be brought out in the open because lives are at stake, the lives of our brave, fighting men and women and quite frankly the future of our country. Although I don't agree with everything you've had to say and certainly not any cussing I applaud your courage for speaking out. Most people would not have done what you're doing. I can see this is not just about money for you and that you miss your brother dearly. I hope you'll understand that I certainly do not wish to cause you or any of your family anymore pain, but I want you to know that the money that was sent to your niece was intended for your entire family. It was her responsibility to make sure you all received equal amounts. She was the legal representative and was trusted to take care of that matter. She is a grown women and legally an adult. If she had been a minor at the time of her father's death it was to go solely to her that was the impression I was under at that time. I hope you find justice. You certainly deserve it along with Kristen and the rest of the family! I agree with you that honesty is always the best policy.

There is a misconception that every thing done in Iraq that is not the Army is KBR. There are multiple contractors here...Dyncorp, Flour, EODT, Blackwater, Raytheon, PAE...the list go on and on. KBR has been accused of over charging for food...KBR does not buy the food here or transport it. KBR cooks the food. The headcount for how many eat in a Dining Facility is done by the ARMY. Someone gets electricuted in a building here and its KBR's fault. There has never been anyone electrocuted in a building where KBR has responsibility. The last individual to be electrocuted was in a building inspected by KBR. KBR provided the ARMY a deficiency list..the ARMY moved in before anything was fixed. There is a process by contract that KBR follows. A job is identified, all problems fixed, then KBR is responsible...not before...AND remember, there are other contractors here providing Life Services. Convoys are ran by the ARMY...What procedures are followed are directed by them. What equipment they have is directed by them. Besides, on a note, someone mentioned the drivers should have weapons...they can't due to international law...called Geneva Convention. I know, americans are the only ones that follow it. There is a whole lot that is misunderstood about KBR, the contract and how things are done here. As subcontractors, we are just as frustrated as everyone else....ITS THE ARMY!

Also, meeting in person is out of the question because all it would do is enable you to try to vent the built up aggression, both physically and verbally, on me. It would serve not purpose.

I'm just not sure you will have much luck...a lawyer against KBR's legal team. Besides, if your brother was a truck driver, he was an employee of Services Employee International, Inc (SEII). Unfortunately, the U.S. government has allowed KBR to set up the perfect situation. Almost all the employees here in Iraq are employed by another company (shell) and not directly with KBR. KBR doesn't own the employees, they are subcontractors. KBR doesn't own the equipment, it belongs to the government. The company only does what the client (Army) tells them to do...all directions are from the Army. Your beef, unfortunately, is wholely and completely with the U.S. Army.
