And, I have always been uncomfortable with Michael Moore, and I am more liberal than him . But he has just really made me a fan with this response.
And I am an ex-pat Brit, I have a lot of complaints about Britain and US, but Moore is dead on on this.
I am a convert.

I am an American living in France. Although, as an American resident, I pay for my own health care via private insurance, I have had a lot of personal experience with the health care system here. My husband is a retired American physician who agrees that the care here is excellent and given with great courtesy and compassion. It is, indeed, equally available to all citizens - regardless of their financial status. Yes, the taxes here are high, but so are they in America. However, the difference is that, here, the taxes are used to benefit ALL citizens - not to prop up the rich or pay for unnecessary wars!

Dr. Gupta has a clear bias against universal healthcare, and is using the same tired excuses for not providing the HUMAN RIGHT of healthcare to all american citizens. He uses the same fear tactics we hear over and over from the corporate conservative machine, exaggerating Canada's long waiting periods for medical procedures, telling us we will be overtaxed and our country driven in to debt. We will pay for our healthcare whether through paying less through taxes or paying more for large insurance premiums of corporations who will do everything they can to increase their profits by denying you medical care, and he's complaining about the small waiting period of a single country amongst the other 24 industrialized nations who actually have the decency to provide healthcare to all their citizens. Dr. Gupta is afraid of universal healthcare because he adores and is a member of the greatest healthcare system in the world- THE IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT SYSTEM. If you can't afford healthcare, our country has one of the worst healthcare systems in the world. Unfortunately i fear this country will never have universal healthcare. There is too much corporate influence in washington, too much fear among the masses, and the key for now is a negotiation between the views of mr. moore and dr. gupta. A system with a proper balance between private industry and a universal healthcare system. None of the democratic candidates besides john edwards have a clear plan for anything resembling TRUE and absolute universal healtcare, and i will settle for that for the time being. Something not talked about here is what I believe to be the height of criminal corporate greed- the pharmaceutical industry. We are the only country in the world that does not regulate prescription drug prices, so these companies are allowed to charge whatever they would like, obscene prices for drugs nescessary for our health, it is truly disgusting. Do we believe the better system is one- briefly highlighted in sicko- of the current medicare prescription drug program, where because of heartless republicans and lobbyist monsters we pay almost a trillion dollars of our tax money to these industries to overpriced drugs and shady private insurance companies. The healthcare system in this country is truly tragic, a horrific by-product of the few conservative swine who own and exploit our nation.

As a Canadian physician I must say that Michael Moore has put forth a very miguided view of Canada.
Our healthcare is NOT FREE. We pay significantly more taxes than in the USA.
Moore regularly uses cheap, lowbow emotional tactics to prove his point.
He has no arguement against intellectuals.

Mike Moore is a great AMERICAN exposing the corruption of corporate ameriKa and its need to create suffering of the american people.

We were once the greatest nation in the world.

We were leaders in virtually every aspect of civilized society.

Now gramma cant get her medicine, she decides between eating and her medicine.

We lead the world in infant mortality of all industrialized nations.

Our jobs are gone.

China owns us.

Foriegners are controlling our ports.

We were leaders in acedemics, now neither Jane nor Johnny cant read.

Our media spews propaganda.

Our police are being militarized.

Next new thing will be mass tasering of protestors, free speach is gone.

There is a total attempt to control and oppress us.

Anyone who does not understand this is not doing enough reading.

Hundreds of new and oppressive laws have been passed that will bite us all in the butt.

I urge you all to start looking into the serious and real fall of this once great nation, now fallen to evil.
