It all boils down to what Reagan did in 1988 bowing to pressure from the right: "Abolishing the Fairness Doctrine". This allowed channels like Fox News and Rush Limbaugh to exist. Ninety two percent (92%) of radio talk show hosts are right wing persuasion. Public airwaves belong to the public and the fairness doctrine must be restored. Insist that the presidential candidates promise to restore the fairness doctrine and to bust the 5 media monopolies which control our thought process.

You totally miss the point. Bill O'Reilly is a liar Ron L and that is "factually" proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Bill O'Reilly and Fox claim to be independent,non-partisan and fair and balanced. Come now do you really believe that? Why don't Fox and O'Reilly just admit what they are, mouthpieces for the extreme right wing in this country. They have the right to believe whatever they want; I can disagree but they do have the right. Just be honest about what you believe. Michael Moore is honest about his positions on issues and where he stands on the political spectrum. Here are just a few of Billo's lies courtesy of Media Matters:

O'Reilly claimed Bush didn't oppose the 9-11 Commission. That was a lie.

O'Reilly claimed Iraq had ricin. That was a lie.

O'Reilly claimed that terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi proved a direct link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein's Iraq. That was a lie.

O'Reilly invented the fictional Paris Business Review as his source for success of his French boycott. That was a lie there is no such publication.

O'Reilly cited phony stats to argue that taxes on rich are excessive. That was a lie the stats didn’t exist.

O'Reilly doctored a quotation to suggest George Soros wished his own father dead. That was a lie.

O’Reilly said that the Socialistic French, Germans, and Canadian governments tax at 80 percent. That was a lie.

O’Reilly said Canadian, British, and French media are government-controlled. That was a lie.

Fox and O'Reilly are not honest. They lie. That's the real issue.

People don't like O'Reilly because he exposes people like Michael Moore does, so I think you have a lot of O'Reilly haters here and not DailyKos lovers. Most rational people would see the DailyKos as a bunch of nutcase misfits. I think the real question was if it was fair for Fox to infer that JetBlue supports the DailyKOS. I think after it is all said and done, the CEO of JetBlue will find out what the DailyKOS is all about. I'm sure he didn't have a clue and people from that generation that is trying to move ahead like a fireball, just simply looks at hit counters. It was obvious to me the CEO wasn't listening to the crap found on the KOS site but thinking about the implications.

I don't think even after the interview the CEO knew what the DailyKOS was or what it was about. At the most he probably heard it was a convention of some blog site. So yeah he looked befuddled and confused but he didn't know how to respond and should have just been honest and said, "I'll look into it and get back with you" then took his time to see what convention they were sponsoring.

One thing is clear is that O'Reilly expects respect and when these corporations don't respond to him (such as a written request) he follows up on it and puts them in a bad light. Now watch and see if I'm not right on this... he, along with a few other segments on Fox will have people from JetBlue about their corporation and most likely it won't at all relate to the DailyKos, unless it is on O'Reilly's show. That's just how they do it.

I might be wrong, but it seems like Al Sharpton was first attacked by O'Reilly before he became almost a regular on many of their shows. Ditto, Ann Coulter... Most people don't realize this, but the first time Coulter was on Fox, she was being attacked by O'Reilly and I think the only reason she went further than just simply an author and columnist was that she held her own against O'Reilly on TV. Ditto, Rosy O'Donnell, except I think her visits were limited by her and not Fox.

You know how Jerry Springer gets all his guest hyped up so they are emotional nuts before they come out?... I think Fox does this in the background in reverse and tells people like JetBlue CEO how they can right their company and make great headway into a huge audience. If they come across as interesting, they will be on other programs before it is over. In my opinion, this is a very smart marketing move that cost Fox little and why the boys in the backroom marketing probably love O'Reilly regardless of his show.

The pope IS a primate. The thing about archbishops may be true (It sounds familiar to me), but the pope is, in fact a primate, as he is a human being and humans are primates.

As for all the other claims, I would personally like to hear the EXACT quotes that they're drawing these conclusions from. (then again, it's quite possible to edit a quote to make it sound like one thing when it in fact means something else). Plus people commenting on here also seem to be saying that most of the controversial stuff is comingt from anonymous posters that are hard to control

The Pope may well be a primate, since that is a title for an archbishop. I don't know if it still applies when an Archbishop moves up to pope, and it's not much used these days anyway.

As to the rest, Daily Kos maybe should point out that comments posted come from readers. Just could be the poster is a republican. Just could be the poster is a republican employed by a republican congressman.
