on June 28th, 2007 @Google talks welcomed Ed Massey to the Google NYC office to speak about the Garden in Transit program. In September 2007, an entire fleet of painted taxi cabs will take over New York City. Yes, we will be bringing in one of them into Tech Talk, so come to the event!
About Ed and the program : Ed Massey, co-founded Portraits of Hope with Bernie Massey, to continue their utilization of art and poignant visual imagery for large-scale projects of social consequence. The Portraits of Hope program is aimed at brightening and enriching the lives of children and adults - many of who may be coping with adversity, hardship, emotional or physical trauma, or serious illness - through their participation in creative, high-profile, one-of-a-kind projects. From its inception, Portraits of Hope has emphasized hands-on civic engagement opportunities for the broader public. Portraits of Hope's integrated elements are Goodwill, Art, Education, Health, Teamwork, Community Involvement, Achievement, Civic Responsibility and Visibility.
