How to Stop the Smears Against Obama

The FOX smears are continuing and we need to stop them from spreading to the rest of the media.  Watch FOX's laughably inaccurate distortions, as they smear Barack Obama on everything from the economy to race to patriotism to flag pins.

In the coming weeks, FOX will escalate its gross misrepresentations of Obama, and we know from painful past experience that some in the corporate media will spread FOX's canards by presenting them as fact.  We must stop the spread.

Now that you've had the chance to watch we need you to make sure everyone else sees the distortions as we work to stop them.  Sign our petition and demand FOX stop serving up blatant lies for the rest of the media to swallow.  It's critical that you send it to everyone you know, get it to your local newspapers and TV stations, and post it on blogs and networking sites.

This is a game show because satires sometimes can be a powerful weapon.  Let's use it to make sure the media know that when it comes to Obama, The FOX Is Wrong!

I think the United States of America needs to come up with a new name for itself. The very last thing this country is is "united". Any ideas?
  • TB
Anon, you are so full of lies, its not even funny.

ACORN has already been looked at, and the problem was merely that contractors who had been being paid PER REGISTRATION were making up names in order to make more money, without actually doing more work.

There is no, ZERO, evidence that any of these faulty registrations were used by anyone, and in almost all cases they were purged from the rolls before they even GOT there. In those few instances where they made it through, nobody used them to vote.

    Period. Full Stop.

The ACORN issue is a DISTRACTION being promulgated by the right wing media and its allies. Ignore it, and worry about the right wing stealing your vote through intimidation and suppression tactics.

i htink fox news is helping obama in many ways:
1-as we all know, obama's best shot at mccain is to link him with bush and no body before the dnc convrention started, did that better than fox news by supporting mccain the same way they supported bush in 2004
2-more than60% of americains disapprove bush's job and some of them voted for him because of fox so they would instinctly vote against fox best candidate wich is mccain
i think that's why we don't hear a lot of antifox remarks in this convention and one of the reason that let me think that obama is running an extremely smart campaign that most of the times he talked about fox he used it to link mccain to bush.but what worries me how cnn steped in and picked up fox side because of their common interest with fox in a candidate that can make the news with his negative campaigning

Bill Jones, the owner of all the DNC networks is Hungarian. That's right. George Soros dominates much of the left-wing media.
  • Bill Jones
Faux News is funnier that Comedy Central. The only unfortunate thing is, there are fools who think it's a serious presentation. They're a disgrace to America. Of course, with an Australian owner what can you expect?
  • Ben O'Brien
this should be made into pretty dvd that republicans and people on the fence to go with the non-corrupt Obama non-Manchurian candidate, and remember if it doesn't look good they won't buy it or even take it home... for FREE.
  • We Need To Win
Sipple - we've had this discussion before. So what if corporations own media outlets. It's called a business and who else would put up the millions of dollars to sustain international news organizations?
Or would you prefer the government own the media?

So what if networks have to be licensed by the government? That proves nothing. It is to qualify the legitimate ones from the not legitimate.

If you want to spour unsubstantiated conspiracy theories and lunacy - go write a blog.
  • mdefalla
At this point I trust the Weekly World News more than Fox News.
  • Dianne
The attacks on Obama by Fox is wrong. Most of it is untrue. Hannity and O'Reilly are the Fox attack dogs who would love to get Obama in front of them so they can embarrese him and attack him. Until Fox finds out that they are not GOD only a certain types of people are the only one going to watch Fox. People should boycot Fox until they change some of their programs. Of course as long the ratings are high they will continue these unfair attacks on people.
  • Rocky Lore
Marta, why is Obama afraid of Fox? Oh that's right, it's not owned by the Democratic Party. And if you're gonna boycott advertisers, go after the ones that advertise on rap stations!
  • MartaK
Why are Rupert Murddoch and Fox News so afraid of Obama? No point in telling Fox anything; you can't fix stupid. People need to boycott their advertisers. Unfortunately, the only thing that talks in this country is money. Hit them in the pocketbook to stop this trash.
  • Rocky Lore
You just proved my point, Eric. Liberals only support free expression as long as it fits THEIR views. You would be accusing me of intolerance and censorship if I blocked CNN. Then again, free speech is a foreign concept to liberals who support Castro, Kim, Chavez, and Mugabe.
  • We Need To Win
I wish people would get it right; it's not a difficult concept to understand. Reporters and news persons are obligated by accepted journalistic standards to report factually and not editorialize. Commentators are not.

Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, etc., are commentators. They can say what they wan;, give their opinion. Katie Couric and Brit Hume can and should not.

The problem arises when reporters like Michael Ware give ther opinion; which he does often. That leads the public to think what he says is factual and the news. Often it's not.
  • eric
    hey "Rocky Lore",

I bet you are a foxnewsbot, how are you getting pay by them faux news. by way most of the people I know have foxnews blocked.
  • Rocky Lore
You liberals are all hypocrites. If someone demanded of a boycott of all the companies who advertised on BET, CNN, or MSNBC, you would be crying censorship and political bias! You fascists say you're for free speech, but you want to censor the only news network that isn't run by Democrats!
  • Murry
Fox may end its smear campaign and change its editorial policies and become truly "fair and balanced" if their bottom line is negatively effected by their ongoing abuse of truth and decency. A mass boycott of Fox's advertisers may push them toward credible journalism. Join me in this effort. Advertisers are critically aware of their public image- if it becomes apparent to them that their relationship with Fox is detrimental to them, they will take their advertising dollars elsewhere. Boycott all Fox advertisers until they get the message, and ask everybody to do the same.
  • Lisa Sherman
You don't have to choose special clips to make FOX look bad. They do just fine on their own. If you want unbiased news you have to listen to something that isn't owned by big corporations-which all major networks are! News is supposed to be FACTUAL any station that features rumors, hearsay, or "latest fashions" is NOT a reliable news source. Give Public television a try. Or, if you insist on watching this stuff,at least take the time to check your facts before repeating something that isn't true about EITHER candidate. Factcheck.org is a good source.
  • Andy
Lame attempt to make something out of nothing... these are carefully selected clips to make Fox News look bad. If you were to watch full episodes and see it in context, you would see that Fox News' claims about Obama are not so incorrect. There are tons of additional clips we could pull together that show Obama's ties to religious nuts like Rev. Wright, his wife's anti-american comments, his lack of accomplishments, etc., etc.

America please vote based on character, leadership, experience, realistic goals... not charismatic speeches, race, or any other superficial reason.
  • ann schmidt
listen to fox and learn the TRUTH......all 3 other networks lie like crazy and push their own liberal agenda......all losers
  • Carol Hansen-Dix
One would think that ANY news station would make more of an effort to be totally truthful whether commenting about Obama or McCain.
  • Rocky Lore
But it's okay for CNN and MSNBC to smear John McCain, right?
  • Jim
Fox News is a cable program service and is not subject to FCC regulation. Fox Broadcast Network and its affiliated stations (which are technically unrelated to Fox News) are over the air broadcast services which are subject to FCC licensing and regulation. The FCC has no jurisdiction over Fox News.
  • I cannot understand why one important step in this process to hold FOX accountable is never spoken of?

File complaints with the FCC ! You can find the information and links to do so on my site. I urge everyone to do this every time you see these things broadcast. They are violations of FCC rules and if the FCC is flooded with 610,000 complaints it will be hard for them to ignore.

I would go one farther...use the paper versions not the online forms. Send them certified mail to the FCC then send a copy of the receipts to Bravenewfilms. The present all of these mail receipts to FOX news !

Then send copies to every advertiser on FOX news and threaten to boycott their products if they continue to advertise on FOX.

Continued petitions don't bother FOX. They must listen to the FCC and they must listen to their advertisers.
  • Ruben
It's going to be hard to shut up the smears. The people at Fox and conservative talk shows have to much power. You might as well face the facts the news media and talk shows now run this country. Most people that watch or listen to these shows believe everything they say. The best thing you can do is turn them off and not listen to the BS. I'am with you though. The smears need to stop on both sides.
  • THEHOWIE
    VOTE FOR THE WHITE GUY
  • John Arthos
Progressives should use the Corsi affair to bury Fox, Mary Maitlin, etc. It's so transparent this time, we need to shame the 'mainstream' media into treating the shameless mind-control as kryptonite.
  • Nick Falcone
And, here I though the discussion was to center on FOX News and its biases. Silly me.
  • Patrick
I think we need to boycott the advertisers on the shows where the smear obama. Just spreading the news is insufficient. It is neccisary to strike the business of fox news and make concequences for those who support their smears. Lets make it so only coors beer and Exxon will advertise on FOX.
  • rizzo1015
The convention has been hijacked by the Clintons, Obama is losing control and is sinking in the polls. He is all sizzle and no steak. When it gets down to the nuts and bolts Obama is going to lose BIG time and take the part with him
  • rizzo1015
Senator Kaine on Fox news a couple of days ago..........KAINE: The Senator's goal was to be tough and smart, and so when the action happened on Thursday, he immediately called for a ceasefire, condemned the unwarranted use of force by Russia. It was a bad crisis for the world. It required tough words, but also a smart approach to call on the international community to step in -- and I'm very, very happy that the senator's request for a ceasefire has been complied with.
What is he talking about??? The Messiah, Lord Obama called for a cease fire and it has been complied with?? MORON
  • Jim
The only thing I can think of that would be more effective than this viral campaign is to weave into the content the logos of the advertisers who have spots placed adjacent to the offending comments. I don't recommend boycotts, because they generally come off as dumb. But if you highlight the BRANDS that are paying for this crap the managers of those brands will definitely have to factor that into the cost of their brand maintenance programs.
  • l and c
it amazes me that people think that mcshame would know how to handle our usa, touting that he has experience etc...but --- he was captured!!!!!!!! Captured and kept a prizner for how long? He's a puppet on a string -- a string being powered by the same old same old and i do mean OLD puppeteers that keep us tethered...what a shame. and this is supposed to be a free country????? hah!
  • Victor Magilke
Victor Magilke did not apologise for his post. Someone who can't spell made this statement in my name. Since the spelling was atrocious,(Kindergartin Level) it was Probable Brian or the other black militant.
I wrote my post after I saw the vedeo and stand by my comments.
I also do not believe that someone spray painted this other black militants driveway.
  • We should also let John McCain know that if he cannot stop the FOX smear campaign we don't believe he can govern a country. It is inaccurate for him to say that he has no control over this type of activity. It has his tacit approval, and it serves him as it has served Bush.
  • Victor Magilke
Racial comments by Brian,"Any African-American that votes for McCan't is an Uncle Tom." This is one of the major problems we will have in this country if we elect a black President. Blacks like Brian will become more arrogant and more racial than they already are.
  • Curtis Mulkey
I agree with everything John Colombo said except the part about Voting for Nader, I won't waste my Vote. On the Subject at hand, I agree with Biff Thiele, I don't read the National Inquirer or watch anything with the "FOX" logo on it. sending petitions to Fox is a waste of time and I have no time to waste. If the Democrats want to win this Election they need to "FOCUS" on McCain's multitude of weaknesses, such as lack of "Family Values",(Dunped Sick Wife for multi millionair with eight Houses),His many "flip flops",( on everything), His Hypocrisy of claiming to support the "Troops" then Voting against their Veteran bennifits, etc., etc.......
  • T
I agree with Victor Magilke. I believe he hit the nail on the head. What are the democrats and the Obama camp afraid of?
He's flip flopped, threw his own grandmother, who supported him, under the bus and in fact called her a racist. His comment, "Shes a typical white American." is a racist comment and anyone with un-American racist views is not presidential material and has no business occupying the white house.
  • Victor Magilke
I don't consider exposing Barack Hussein Obama for what he represents as smears.
I intend to purchase more of the books written by Jerome Corsi concerning Barack Hussein Obama. Everything in the book that I have read are facts concerning Barack Hussein Obama. Why do the democrats not want us to read these facts? If they are embarrassed by these truths about Obama, why do they support him?
We've all seen the videos of Jeremiah Wright, Obama's Pastor and mentor for twenty years. So why not read the book. It merely confirms what Jeremiah Wright has stated in the racial environment of his church, if you can call it a church. Putting on a performance every Sunday with African exhibitions spewing hatred for white America is abominable and Obama listened to this propaganda for twenty years. Shame on you democrats for supporting this evil anti-American.
America cannot survive an administration with the leadership of Obama, Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharptom.
Barack Hussein Obama needs to be exposed for his racism, hatred for America and his extreme hatred for,"Typical White Americans." This loathsome comment made by him was not a slip of the tongue, its his true feelings concerning white Americans.
If elected, Barack Hussein Obama will be the representative of Black African Nations, Libya, Indonesia and Black Americans. He has made it abundantly clear that he will not represent white America, but damns America and White Americans. Any white American that votes for Barack Hussein Obama is a fool and deserves any punishment inflicted on them by the Obama Regime.
If Obama were to be elected, this would be a monumental catastrophe of such magnitude that it would destroy what American stands for and what patriotic Americans have died for. Our country will never be the same and we will never recover from the racial divide between Blacks and all other Americans.
I will still support the Democratic candidates that have kept their pledge to support Hillary Clinton. However, those that abandoned Hillary in her time of need and Support Obama will not receive my support.

    Victor Magilke
  • Jay Ballou
Sorry Mr. Thiele, but it's still there even when you close your eyes.
  • Robert Coats
It's time to organize a boycott of products that are advertised on Fox. Advertisers are very sensitive about that sort of thing, and may put pressure on Fox to clean up its act.
  • Biff Thiele
I love what you guys do, but....
The most annoying to me is that I refuse to watch FOX - period. But, then you send me their video crap and tell me that I need watch it and make sure as many people see the distortions. What is going to happen is I am going to end up refusing to deal with you guys. STOP sending this crap. Petitions are fine, just don't give FOX expanded the added publicity.
