For Republicans that argue Saddam MUST of had WMD's because of "all the games he played with inspectors", and "if he didn't have them, why not just let the inspectors in?"
Also consider the unspoken point on the worthlessness of torture. Befriending Saddam and gaining his trust provided more insight and a willingness to talk than torture ever could have.
